Live chat: EYE BUY ART
A picture’s worth a thousand words — but how many dollars? Photographic art is thriving in Ottawa and indeed Canada. Emily McInnes, owner of EYE BUY ART, and Ottawa Citizen Style editor Jennifer Campbell discussed it noon Wednesday, May 23.

Dang. I just learned about this Live Chat now.
To add to one of the final points. I, for one, would definitely sell an Instagram photo. Provided of course that I felt that I’d shot something really good using that medium, or app as it were. That hasn’t quite happened for me yet. But if it does. Sure why not!

I’m really sorry, but Wendy Given’s peanut art looks like female genitalia.
@Pat… Hey, don’t be sorry for discussing art. But, maybe it’s supposed to look like that? Maybe not? That’s what makes art fun! Who wants nondescript, cookie-cutter portraits or sunsets from IKEA hanging in their house just to fill space? I actually want the art in my home to evoke discussions with my guests.
@Jonny I couldn’t have said it better myself! @Pat, you aren’t the first person to say that (so did my son’s Doctor
Truthfully, I didn’t even see that until she pointed it out. Possibly, I think it makes them even more awesome. Wendy is a really interesting artist. Someone who truly has a voice inside that guides her work, who doesn’t fall prey to current trends. You can read her artist statement and bio if you’re interested, on her artist page: http://eyebuyart.com/content/artists/wendy-n-given
Wendy is going places, and is someone to keep your eye on.
